First Meeting Today!

We had our meeting at 3pm in Gallant Hall Room 8. Members Present were: Nathan, Shoniece, Haley, and Jasmine. President Seth was not in attendance. Nathan became the club secretary and was given an official Tech Club record book to keep the minutes. We decided on a yearly project to create computerized musical instruments for each member. This will involve building the computers, programming the sound effects software, and learning how to play the instruments. We hope to be able to learn songs like, "Mr. Roboto", "Robot Rock", and "Thriller" for a performance for some of the school population. Next Meeting is on 2009 10 06.

Alas... gOS didn't work on the new machine :(

Alas... gOS didn't work on the new machine. So last night I did a bit of looking around and found TinyME... a stripped down version of linux. It doesn't run KDE but it has a very simple UI. That's okay because we just want to get the machine functioning (and help it kick the Microsoft). If all else fails, we can put FreeDOS or BasicLINUX on the machine and see just what we can accomplish!

Shoniece & Jasmine Go to Work!

So today, one of our school's administrative assistants donated an HP Pavilion 4535 and a Sony Model CPD-100ES CRT. Shoniece & Jasmine decided they'd put a new OS (gOS of Course!) on it and try to get the thing working at top-speed and in tip-top shape.
